Medicare PECOS Ruling

Are you aware of the new Medicare PECOS Ruling law that is going to be effective July 6, 2010?

The new Medicare PECOS is the current ruling with Medicare which indicates that every Medicare referring physician needs to be up to date with their CMS-855I, CMS-855R and CMS-PECOS filings, (Internet-Based Provider Enrollment, Chain and Ownership System).

In other words, any Medicare referring provider that has not completed their CMS-PECOS filings by January 3, 2011, if they refer Medicare patients to Durable Medical Equipment Companies, Laboratory and/or Diagnostic Testing Companies, the Durable Medical Equipment Companies, Laboratory and/or Diagnostic Testing Companies will not be reimbursed for any claims. Also, if a medical provider has not reapplied or enrolled for the CMS-855I and CMS-855R during the last five years, they will need to first fill out those forms and then send in the CMS-855I and CMS-855R forms prior to the CMS-PECOS application.

If a medical provider has not filed their forms for CMS-855I, CMS-855R and/or CMS-PECOS and needs assistance, we are currently offering services to medical providers for an hourly fee.
